SECTION 8
APPLIANCES & INTERIOR FEATURES
through ducts in the ceiling of the coach. Inside
air returns to the air conditioner through a filter
system beneath the rear bed. (See "Air Condi-
tioner Filters".)
Air Conditioner Filter
The disposable furnace type filter is located
beneath a panel under the rear bed mattress
board. The filter must be inspected and replaced
periodically so the air conditioner will operate ef-
ficiently.
Air Conditioner Filter
(Beneath bed)
To Replace the A/C Filter:
Lift the foot of the rear bed mattress board,
which is hinged near the head of the mat-
tress. It is supported by gas props while
open.
Lift the filter out of the bracket assembly
beneath the access panel.
Place the new filter into the bracket, being
careful to observe airflow markings on the
edge of the filter.
A/C Filter Size: 14" x 20" x 1"
NOTE: Do not block the filter in any way, such
as by setting packages or newspapers,
etc., on top of it. There must be free air
flow for the air conditioner to operate
efficiently.
Condenser Coils
The condenser is located in a compartment
on the right side of the coach. The condenser is
the large, black, rectangular area that looks like a
8-14
car radiator.
Periodically sweep debris carefully from the
fins of the condenser. Rinse dust off with clean
water. The condenser coils must be clean and
free of dust, debris and insect particles, etc., for
the air conditioner to cool efficiently.
Further Information
See the air conditioner manufacturer's operat-
ing instructions supplied in your Owners Info-
Case. They contain detailed operating
instructions, special precautions and basic trou-
bleshooting.
DUCTED ROOF AIR
CONDITIONING SYSTEM
(Model 36L diesel chassis only)
Front and rear air conditioner units are con-
trolled by separate wall thermostats. The front
thermostat is located on a galley wall. The rear
thermostat is located in the bedroom.
The front thermostat also controls furnace op-
eration when the SYSTEM switch is placed in
HEAT position. (See LP Gas Furnace).
NOTE: The ducted roof air conditioning system
has ceiling registers than can be closed if
necessary to force more cool air toward
a specific area of the coach or to route
cool air away from a specific area. If too
many vents are closed, however, it can
cause the air conditioner unit to ice up
and stop cooling, particularly in high
humidity conditions.
