Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
The target audience for this module will be Kia Master
level, Master level candidates, Senior level, and Senior
level candidates service technicians.

In this module, you will be given the opportunity to
practice performing Supplemental Restraint System
(SRS) inspection and diagnostic procedures.
Objectives of this module are for you to demonstrate
your ability to:
• Locate, inspect, and diagnose SRS sensors.
• Diagnose SRS component malfunction.
Carefully read and follow the instructions for each
activity. Answer the questions and fill in the blanks
with the requested information as you perform the
activity. When you have finished, have your service
training instructor evaluate your work and sign-off that
it has been properly completed.
You will be divided up into teams and given a series of
tasks to complete. If you do not understand the
instructions or have any questions, don't hesitate to
ask the instructor for further clarification.
To complete this module, you will need the following
items:
• 2004.5 Spectra (LD) or LD engine
• #2 pencil or preferred writing instrument
• Hi-Scan Pro
• KSIS and Sign/Log On
• Passenger Airbag load tool
This module will take approximately 30 minutes.
This guided practice will give you the opportunity to
put into practice the information you have learned in
the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) theory
module. Under the supervision of a trained Kia
service-training instructor you will perform a series of
tasks to fulfill the objectives of this guided practice.
Task #1: SRS Sensors Inspection (3 points)
Task #2: SRS Component Malfunction Diagnosis (2 pts)
