Supplemental Restraint System
The target audience for this module will be Kia Master
level, Master level candidates, Senior level, and Senior
level candidates service technicians.
Upon successful completion of this New Spectra
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) theory module,
you will be able to:
• Identify and explain the operation and diagnosis of
the MY 2004.5 and 2005 Spectra
After completing this module and using this module
with related materials, you will be able to identify or
perform the following with 80% or greater accuracy:
• Application of the Spectra SRS with past Spectra
and existing Kia vehicles
• Spectra Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
operation
• Spectra Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
components location and operation
• Diagnosis and repair of:
• Driver Airbag (DAB) and Passenger Airbag (PAB)
dual squib
• Occupant Classification System (OCS)
• Side Curtain Bag
• Front Impact Sensor (FIS) (1) and Side Impact
Sensor (SIS) (4)
• Seat location sensor
• SRS Special Service Tools
• Diagnostics using the Hi-Scan Pro (HSP)
