BOOT Sequence

The gateway passes through various functional states on starting:
Start Mode
BOOTmonitor Mode
Normal Operation Mode
After several selftests have been performed successfully in Start Mode, the
gateway changes to the BOOTmonitor Mode. The BOOTmonitor prompt is dis-
played if you are serially connected to the gateway.
Press <sp> for boot monitor or any other key to boot system

(1) Boot System
(2) Software Update via TFTP
(3) Software Update via XMODEM
(4) Delete Configuration
(5) Default Bootmonitor Parameters
(6) Show System Information
Your Choice>
Press Space within four seconds of the display of the BOOTmonitor prompt if
you want to use the BOOTmonitor functions. If you do not make an entry within
four seconds, the gateway changes back to normal operation mode.
The BOOTmonitor makes the following functions available, which you select by
entering the relevant digit:
1. Boot system:
The gateway loads the compressed boot file from the flash memory to the
RAM memory. This happens automatically when started.
2. Software update via TFTP:
The gateway performs a software update via a TFTP server.
