ENGINE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE

The oil pressure gauge is mounted in the instrument panel cluster. This gauge will indicate the amount of
oil pressure available at the pressurized engine oil passage.
CHART 7703. TROUBLESHOOTING (ENGINE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE)
TROUBLE
Excessive error at zero.
Excessive scale error.
Excessive pointer oscilla-
tion.
Sluggish operation of
pointer or pressure fails
to build up.

TEMPERATURE

OIL TEMPERATURE INDICATOR

The oil temperature indicator is mounted in the instrument panel cluster. This instrument provides a
temperature indication of engine oil in degrees Fahrenheit. The instrument has a temperature bulb in the oil
screen assembly of the engine accessory section.

CAUSE
Pointer loose on shaft.
Overpressure or seasoning
of bourdon tube.
Improper calibration ad-
justment.
Air in line or rough engine
relief valve.
Engine relief valve open.
Line restriction to instrument.
Loss of oil in engine or
other engine failure.

REMEDY
Replace instrument.
Replace instrument.
Disconnect Line and fill with
light oil. Check for leaks.
If trouble persists, clean
and adjust relief valve.
Clean and check.
Clean and check.
Shut down engine immediately.
