  • Page 33 When connecting TP-LINK router to JB-199 Premier unit If you purchased the router and JB199 player together from CAVS, IP address of JB199 machine assigned by the TP-Link router is reserved by default. If you purchased your TP-LINK router separately, please follow the below instruction to reserve the IP address that will be assigned to your machine by the router.

  • Page 35 JB-199 Premier unit 1. Go to Apple App store from your iPhone / iPad and download the CAVS RS II App for free. We demonstrate below only the steps for iPhone, as they are very similar to those for iPad.

Turn on the Wi-Fi and select the wireless router (for example, CAVS Router) to which the CAVS RS II Server program is connected.

    BASIC FUNCTIONS Power on Be sure to set the power input of JB-199 in the back panel according to your wall outlet. Incorrect setting will cause serious and un-repairable damage to JB-199. Press the POWER button on the front panel of the unit. The unit will boot up to the initial Welcome screen.
  • Page 39 HOW TO OPERATE Program songs Input a song number and press PROG to program the song. You can program up to 99 songs. Cancel programmed songs To cancel the programmed songs, press CANCEL. The last song in the program queue will be deleted.

    Press FANFARE button on the remote control repeatly to make a selection. Press PLAY to play the fanfare and display a score. Master Volume Control Raise / lower the master volume of JB-199 by pressing VOLUME UP / DOWN button on the remote control.

    HOW TO OPERATE TIME Press TIME button on the remote control to select between elapsed time and remaining time shown on the LCD front display. To display the time on the TV screen, press TITLE button first and then press TIME button.     DISC PLAY Disc Drive You can install up to 2 external disc drives with USB 2.0 connections onto JB-199. We recommend Plextor CDR or DVDR drives for compatibility with JB-199 and CD+G discs. For the latest information on the list of compatible Plextor models, please visit www.cavsusa.com.

    HOW TO OPERATE Disc Recording This chapter describes how to make Audio CD from the recorded tracks. From the initial Welcome screen, press JB/CD button to switch from JUKE to DISC (DISC1/DISC2) mode. Press OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control to open the disc drive and insert a blank CD-ROM disc.

    Download (DataCD) This chapter describes how to transfer files (songs or upgrades) from DataCD to JB-199. From the initial Welcome screen, press JB/CD button to switch from JUKE to DISC (DISC1/DISC2) mode. Press OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control to open the disc drive and insert the DataCD. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control again to close the disc drive.

    Normally, it is set to Song to song. 8. Recording Status (Save / Erase) The default setting of Save stores the recorded tracks after JB-199 is powered off. The Erase setting deletes the recorded tracks when JB-199 is powered off.

You can also click on Auto Numbering to assign the song numbers automatically. Note: Song numbers (NUM) cannot be saved. They are assigned temporarily for sending files only.

    - Video CD tracks - MIDI tracks The CDG file noted in this list is of the graphic file format produced by JBManager or JB-199 Manager program of CAVS. This is different from cdg (rw) files produced by other internet programs without compression.

For example, 00001.MP3 - Audio track with one MP3 file 00002.MP3 - CD+G track with MP3 and CDG files 00002.CDG 00003.MP3 - CD+G track with MP3 and MCG files 00003.MCG 00004.MP3 - DVD track with one AVI and two MP3 files...
  • Page 65 Unzip the files and insert the upgrade programs into the directory /PROG/ and configuration files into the subdirectory /CONFIG/. D. Having prepared the files you wish to download into JB-199, write the files and the directories into a CD-ROM using any standard disc writing program.
  • Page 66: Optional Devices

    After inserting a disc, wait a few seconds for JB-199 to load the disc and return the control. Two disc drives may not be necessary in JB-199 as a song will be read ahead of its play. This can be seen by a display of a rotating disc on the TV screen. The display will close when the song has been completely read, and the disc can be replaced without interrupting the play.

    99999 to any number inbetween 1 - 99999. Note that no song number above 99999 can be called in JB-199. Thus for a JB-199 with a Disc 2 number 80000, for example, only the songs with numbers 1 - 19,999 in the external hard drive can be played.
  • Page 68: Windows Platform

    JB-199 runs on Windows XP platform. Power off the JB-199 unit. Connect the PC monitor, mouse and keyboard into JB-199 as shown in Section: How to connect. Power on the JB-199 and at the initial Welcome screen, press Alt-F4. The JB-199 program will halt closing the TV screen, and return the control to Windows shown in the PC monitor.

    Check the Select by format button and choose the format you wish. Click on Apply. Click on OK repeatly to return to Windows. To return to JB-199, double click on JB-199 Startup.exe at the desktop. Play DVD and Video CD Windows platform comes with PowerDVD player installed.

    At the desktop, there is a file copy of the JB-199 song list, JB-199 songlist.txt. This file is newly generated each time the JB-199 is turned on. Copy the file using a disc drive or memory-stick for editing and printing.

  • Page 72 HOW TO OPERATE - Note the colorful (red, blue or green) burst at the bottom right corner of the screen. The colors indicate the pogress level of communication with CAVS RS II server. - Red : Not Connected - Blue: Connecting / Importing a song list.
  • Page 73 The following popup will appear asking you to input the IP address of the CAVS RS II server. - The IP address can be found on the CAVS RA II server program in the CAVS Karaoke Player on windows PC.
  • Page 74 The burst will then turn to green when importing the song list is completed. - You will see your E-songbook on CAVS RS II Server. Means your E-Songbook is connected and ready to use.
  • Page 75 Disable Reserve / Disable Remote Controller which will allow the user only to view the song list. Note that the level of controls chosen is subject to the level of controls assigned by the CAVS RS II Server program to all E-Songbooks.
  • Page 76 HOW TO OPERATE - Tab on a song and the following popup will appear. Use the on-screen keyboard to type in the customer name, or press the down arrow button to lower the keyboard. You can also preset the key and tempo levels of the song being reserved. - Press the Reserve to reserve the song to the Queue.
  • Page 77 HOW TO OPERATE Search by Title Tap on the search by title. A search window will appear. Type in the word you wish to search. Press GO. Note : Any part of the word can be searched. Songs with matching titles will appear. Press the Index, Title, or Artist button to re-sort the list. From this window, you can tap on a song to reserve, add to a Favorite List, or cancel to return.
  • Page 78 Watch the TV showing the karaoke lyrics. The "Send in Your Score" message will begin to roll across when the CAVS RS II Server is ready to accept the scores. This message will continue to roll across until the scoring period is ended.

    Settings Tap on the settings, tap on the servwe IP address which will bring up the screen keyboard. Type in the IP address of the CAVS RS II server program in your CAVS Karaoke player or Windows based PC. Note : After setting the Server IP, be sure to save by pressing the Save button.
  • Page 80 HOW TO OPERATE - Return to the main menu. Song Book Tap on the Song Book at the main menu. The song list, sorted according to the title will appear. You can re-sort the song list by artist or index pressing the sort button at the bottom. You can scroll or move to any page in the song list by pressing the alphanumeric bar on the right side.
  • Page 81 HOW TO OPERATE Queue Status Tap on the queue status. The list of reserved songs will appear. Favorite list Before starting the favorite list, please note that you can enable/disable the Auto save option in the settings. When enabled, the favorite list will save the added songs automatically. If you wish to save only at your command, turn off the feature.
  • Page 82 Tap on the contest board. The screen will show the menu for scoring. Select the score level and press the confirm button to send. Note : Your score will not be accepted until it is asked for by the CAVS RS II Server.

    HOW TO OPERATE Android Smartphones and Android Tablets In the Home or App window of the Android device, tap on the CAVS RS II App icon and start the App. The main menu of CAVS RS II app will have foolowing options.
