TROUBLESHOOTING

TYPE OF BREAKDOWN POSSIBLE CAUSES
No functions operate
Irregular wire feed
Reduced welding power
Porous or spongy welds
Gas supply does
not switch off
Presslng torch trigger
produces no result
Before removing
the sheath, spray
some low viscosi-
ty oil through the
gap to lubricate
the o-ring
Faulty power cord (one or more
phases disconnected)
Blown fuse
Insufficient spring pressure
Wire-guide blocked
Wire groove - unsuitable for wire,
or excessively worn
Excessive braking on coil
Oxidized, poorly wound, poor quality wire,
with tangled or overlapping coils, etc.
Ground cable not connected
Detached or loose connection
on switches
Faulty contactor
Faulty rectifier
No gas
Drafts in the welding area
Clogged holes in gas diffuser
Gas leakage in supply hoses
Solenoid valve blocked
Faulty regulator
Poor quality gas or wire
Worn or dirty solenoid valve
Faulty torch trigger, disconnected
or broken control cables
Fuse blown
Faulty power switch
Faulty electronic circuit
CHECKS AND SOLUTIONS
Check and remedy
Replace
Tighten pressure assembly knob
Replace
Turn roller over or change it
Loosen brake using adjusting screw
Remedy by removing defective coils. If problem persists,
change the wire reel
Check that the power cord is in good condition and make
sure that the ground clamps are flrmly fixed to the workpiece
Check, tighten or replace, as necessary
Check the state of the contacts and the
mechanical efficiency of the contactor
Visually check for signs of burn-out; if present, replace rectifler
Check presence of gas and gas supply pressure
Use a suitable screen. Increase gas delivery
pressure if necessary
Clear clogged holes using compressed air
Check and replace faulty component
Check solenoid operation and electrical connection
Check operation by removing the hose connecting
the pressure regulator to the power source
Gas must be extra-dry; change the cylinder or use
a different type wire
Replace solenoid
Remove the torch connection plug and short circuit the poles;
if the machine operates properly, check the cables and
the torch trigger
Replace, using a fuse of the same rating
Clean with compressed air. Ensure that wires are
