(5 Relays, 1 Triac, & 3 Analog Outputs)
The BAC-120053CW FlexStat is a 5-relay, 1-triac,
and 3-analog-output controller with special firm-
ware that is used to control the Copeland Scroll
Digital
compressor. (See
www.EmersonClimate.
com.) The BAC-120053CW is similar to the Emer-
son 543-0175-00 Commercial Comfort Controller
(which is manufactured exclusively for the Cope-
land Scroll Digital compressor by KMC Controls as
a customized version of KMC's standard FlexStat).
The BAC-120053CW has a KMC logo (instead of
Emerson), plus economizer and (with a remote
CO
sensor) Demand Control Ventilation (DCV)

functionality.
The triac replaces Relay 6 and is used to modu-
late the compressor. HPU and RTU applications (only) are supported.
Other specifications are the same as for the BAC-120063C model (see

In single compressor applications, the FlexStat varies the capacity of
the Scroll Digital compressor over 10–100% of the rated capacity. Below
10% cooling demand, the FlexStat controls at 10% to meet low levels
of demand. In multiple compressor (tandem) applications, the FlexStat
manages the variable capacity Scroll Digital compressor as the 1st stage
of cooling, effectively providing 5–100% variable capacity control over
the full range of cooling demand in a multiple compressor (tandem) ap-
plication.
