INSTRUMENTS, FEATURES AND CONTROLS
Ignition Switch/Seat Release
The ignition switch/seat release energizes the ignition, the lighting
system, and all electrical switches and buttons. It is also used to release
the operator's seat (on Classic Cruiser).

Off Position

In the OFF position, all electrical circuits are inactive and the ignition
key can be removed. Turn the ignition switch/seat release to the OFF
position and remove the ignition key when leaving the motorcycle
unattended.
On Position
In the ON position, all electrical circuits are energized and the ignition
key cannot be removed. The headlamp, running lights, taillight, and
instrument lights illuminate. With the engine stop/run switch set to the
RUN position (see page 58) you can start the engine. You can also
activate the emergency flashers, turn signals and all other electrical
features.

Before starting the engine, read the instructions for starting the engine beginning on page 82.
