Replacing the Processor Heat Sink

1.
Peel the backin of the thermal coolin pads attached to the new processor
heat sink.
NOTE: If the processor heat sink is replaced, the thermal coolin pads will
be attached to the new processor heat sink. Do not reuse the old thermal
coolin pads.
2.
Place the processor heat sink on the system board.
3.
Ti hten the six captive screws that secure the processor heat sink to the
system board.
4.
Replace the ma nesium cover (see "Replacin the Ma nesium Cover" on
pa e 51).
5.
Replace the left and ri ht brackets (see "Replacin the Brackets" on pa e

Replace the palm rest (see "Replacin the Palm Rest" on pa e
7.
Replace the keyboard (see "Replacin the Keyboard" on pa e
8.
Replace the center control cover (see "Replacin the Center Control Cover"
on pa e 35).
9.
Replace the battery pack (see "Replacin the Battery Pack" on pa e
CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure
that no stray screws remain inside the computer. Failure to do so may
result in damage to the computer.
