MOD Live FAQ
MOD LIVE DATA
Why is the speed value wrong?
MOD LIVE uses GPS technology to determine speed. GPS technology works best in open spaces
with a 360 degree view of the sky. Being in a valley, beside a tree, building or rock face can block
MOD LIVE from getting GPS coverage.
Steps to take:
1. If you have just turned on the MOD Live, wait ten minutes.
2. Move to an open location with a clear view of the sky. If you are in a valley or gulley, move to
higher ground.
3. Check the GPS status indicator.
4. If changing location does not help, turn the power off and on again.
5. If you can't get a GPS signal, contact Recon Support.
Why is the altitude wrong?
MOD Live is designed for use between 0m and 8850m altitude (measured from sea level), and
should be used only
MOD Live calculates altitude using a combination of air pressure and GPS data. When MOD LIVE
is not moving, data from the air pressure sensor is changed to match the GPS reading. Storms
affect air pressure, causing the altitude to decrease. In clear weather, altitude data will increase.
Steps to take:
1. If you have been sitting or standing in an open area for more than a half hour,
turn MOD LIVE off and on.
2. Wait ten minutes.
3. Turn MOD Live back on.
