5.1 Enabling the Remote Activation Function
Some applications require the router to be remotely activated, or dial
up to the ISP using the ISDN interface. For instance, if you are a user
who accesses the Internet via ISDN from home, usually the dialup
connection is idle when you are not at home. You may want to get
some files from home while you are working in the office. This func-
tion allows you to make a phone call to the router and ask it to dial up
to the ISP. Then you can access your home network to retrieve the
files. Of course, you have to have a fixed IP address and expose
some internal network resources, such as FTP, WWW etc.
Click "Call Control and PPP/MP Setup" and specify a phone number
in the Remote Activation field.
