Driver and Passenger Safety
As required by E.C.E Regulation No. 94;
Extreme Hazard!
Do not use a rearward facing
child restraint on a seat
protected by an airbag in
front of it!
If the passenger's front airbag
inflates, it can hit the rearward
facing child restraint system with
great force. The rearward facing
child restraint system can be
dislodged or struck with enough
force to cause very serious injury to
the infant.
When properly installed, a rearward
facing child restraint system may
prevent the driver or a front-seat
passenger from moving the seat as
far back as recommended (see page
15
). Or it may prevent them from
locking the seat-back in the desired
upright position (see page
16
In either case, we recommend that
you place the child restraint system
directly behind the front passenger
seat, move the front seat as far
forward as needed, and leave it
unoccupied. Or you may wish to get
a smaller child restraint system that
allows you to safely carry a front
passenger.
).
