Protecting Children
Improperly placing a front
facing child restraint system
in the front seat can result in
serious injury or death if the
front airbags inflate.
If you must place a front
facing child restraint system
in front, move the vehicle
seat as far back as possible
and properly restrain the
child.

Driver and Passenger Safety
If it is necessary to put a front facing
child restraint system in the front,
move the vehicle seat as far to the
rear as possible, be sure the child
restraint system is firmly secured to
the vehicle, and the child is properly
strapped in the restraint system.
Front Facing Child Restraint System
Installation
To properly route a lap/shoulder belt
through a child restraint system,
follow the restraint system maker's
instructions.
For EU countries, refer to page
37
for installing a child restraint
system.
When you secure a front facing child
restraint system with a lap/shoulder
belt, you must use a locking clip on
the belt (see page
53
).
