BALANCER
3. Install:
• Balancer shaft driven gear 1
• Lock washers
• Balancer shaft driven gear nut
• Right balancer weight nut
• Balancer shaft drive gear bolt
NOTE:
• Align the punch mark a on the balancer shaft
driven gear with the shorter spline b on the bal-
ancer shaft end.
• Align the punch mark c on the balancer shaft
driven gear with the punch mark d on the bal-
ancer shaft drive gear.
4. Tighten:
• Balancer shaft driven gear nut
• Right balancer weight nut
• Balancer shaft drive gear bolt
Right balancer weight nut:
50 Nm (5.0 m · kg, 36 ft · lb)
Balancer shaft driven gear nut:
50 Nm (5.0 m · kg, 36 ft · lb)
Balancer shaft drive gear bolt:
75 Nm (7.5 m · kg, 54 ft · lb)
CAUTION:
The right balancer weight nut, balancer shaft
driven gear nut, and balancer shaft drive gear
bolt has left-handed threads. Turn the retainer
counterclockwise to tighten it.
NOTE:
Place an aluminum plate 1 or 2 between the teeth
of the balancer shaft drive gear 3 and balancer
shaft driven gear 4.
