Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)

The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is the most commonly used
protocol for exchanging data between communication devices using Ethernet.
Unlike UDP, the TCP protocol guarantees reliable transmission between
applications. TCP also distinguishes data for multiple, concurrent
applications running on the same host.
