In order to provide adequate cooling, proper
airflow must be established. As such, the following
items must be observed:
- Do not open the side doors. This could cause fans
to move air from outside rather than through the
rack.
- Do not place objects near the rack that could
clog the ventilation inlets and outlets.
- If the rack is not complete, the subracks must be
placed from the top downwards without leaving
large gaps in between, fig. 4.
14.2. Installation of the rack without fans
If fans are not available and the rack is installed in
ambient temperatures near 113ºF, it is advisable to
leave the rack sides completely open. See fig 5.
