(4) Disconnect the module electrical connectors.
(5) Remove the module from drivers seat.
INSTALLATION
(1) Position the module under the drivers seat.
(2) Connect the module electrical connectors.
(3) Install the two module attaching screws.
(4) Connect the negative battery cable remote ter-
minal.
(5) Position the drivers seat in its original position.
(6) Verify correct system operation.

DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is a digital
computer containing a microprocessor (Fig. 5). The
PCM receives input signals from various switches
and sensors referred to as Powertrain Control Mod-
ule Inputs. Based on these inputs, the PCM adjusts
various engine, transmission, and vehicle operations
through devices referred to as Powertrain Control
Module Outputs.
