Attaching the carburettor cable.
•
Feed the free end of the carburettor cable into the cable
connection point on the throttle bodies but DO NOT place
the adjuster in the mounting bracket. Feed it in as far as it
will go to give you as much free length as possible.
•
Place a drop of medium strength thread locking
compound on the threads on the adjuster beside each lock
nut.
•
Locate the cable adjuster in the mounting bracket and
HAND tighten the lock nuts.
•
Position the CIU under the frame cross tube for the next
step.
Adjusting the carburettor cable free play.
•
Adjust the new 'carburettor' cable using the adjusters at
both ends of the cable to give 0.5~1mm (1/32"~1/16")
free play in the cable. This can be checked by pulling the
end of the outer cable out of the adjuster. There should be
0.5~1mm of free movement before the throttle spindle
starts to move. GENTLY tighten the locknuts on the
adjusters.

This adjustment can be achieved as follows. Open and
close the throttle so that the throttle 'snaps' shut when you
release it and slowly screw the 'carburettor' cable adjuster out until you cannot hear the throttle 'click' when
it closes against the idle stop. Screw the adjuster back in one (1) turn and GENTLY tighten the lock nut.

Be careful that the cable is routed correctly and install the
cylindrical nipple into the throttle spindle. This can be a
little awkward to do. A pair of needle nose pliers may be
helpful.
