SW8-8PB, SW16-16PB, and SW24-24PB

The SW8-8PB, SW16-16PB, and SW24-24PB are identical except for the number of ports. Shown
above is the SW24-24PB.
1. PoE Ports – These should be connected to the WAP-W5Ns
2. G1 Port – This should be connected directly to the CTL-W5N
3. G2 Port – This should be connected to the RT-50V Router switch port 2
4. Console Port – Unused; for advanced troubleshooting

3. Hardware Setup

Before you connect the hardware, you must determine which of the three network setup options
you should use. The proper setup will depend on the number of WAP-W5Ns in your kit (from 3 to
24 WAP-W5Ns). The number of WAP-W5Ns will also determine the type of PoE switch you should
use. The PoE switch options are:
SW8-4PB – up to 4 WAP-W5N Access Points. The SW8-4PB is an unmanaged switch specially
designed to pass VLAN tagging.
SW8-8PB – up to 8 WAP-W5N Access Points. The SW8-8PB is a managed switch that has full
management capabilities.
SW16-16PB – up to 16 WAP-W5N Access Points. The SW16-16PB is a managed switch that has
full management capabilities.
SW24-24PB- up to 24 WAP-W5N Access Points. The SW24-24PB is a managed switch that has
full management capabilities.
If you are:
1- Using the SW8-4PB, connect the hardware as shown in Section 3.1
2- Using the SW8-8PB, SW16-16PB, or SW24-24PB, connect the hardware as shown in
Section 3.2
