Emperon printing architecture adds power and
versatility to an award-winning printer engine.

Type

The magicolor 2550 Series printers use an easy-access Emperon
controller. The magicolor 2550 EN includes 128 MB DDR SDRAM on
board while the magicolor 2550 DN adds a 128 MB DIMM, providing a
total of 256 MB DDR SDRAM.
The next-generation Emperon controller technology for KONICA
MINOLTA laser printers provides efficient document processing with
minimal network impact as well as a host of operating system, emulation,
network, and printer management features:
Windows, Macintosh, and Linux compatibility
PostScript 3 and PCL 6 compatibility; PDF 1.4 Direct Printing is
also available with an optional hard disk
Multi-protocol print serving with TCP/IP, EtherTalk, NetWare, and
NetBIOS/NetBEUI support
Excellent color quality with precise color matching and halftone
screening and 9600 x 600 dpi-class Photo ART contone
resolution
Easy printer management with the PageScope suite of
management utilities
Seamless integration of document output management with a
consistent user interface and functionalities across all the
KONICA MINOLTA next-generation products

Processor

The magicolor 2550 uses a 300 MHz PowerPC CPU for document
imaging.
