MikroTik   R outerOS   s tarting   f rom   v ersion   v 5   i s   f ully   c ompatible   w ith   R outerBOARD   1 200   s eries   d evices.   I f   y our  
device   i s   p reinstalled   w ith   a n   e arlier   R outerOS   r elease,   p lease   u pgrade   R outerOS   t o   v 5.6   o r   n ewer.  
Software   R eset  
It   i s   p ossible   t o   r eset   a ll   s oftware   c onfiguration   b y   u sing   t he   S oftware   R eset   j umper   ( C1138)     d uring   t he   p ower-­‐
up.   N o   c onfirmation   o r   p asswords   w ill   b e   a sked,   s o   u se   w ith   c aution.   T his   f eature   c an   b e   d isabled   i n   t he  
"system   r outerboard   s ettings"   m enu   b y   s witching   t he   " enable-­‐jumper-­‐reset"   p arameter   t o   " no".    
Simply   u se   a   m etal   o bject   t o   s hort   c ircuit   t he   m etallic   r eset   j umper   w hile   b ooting.  
RouterBOOT  
The   R outerBOOT   f irmware   ( also   r eferred   a s   B ootloader   h ere)   p rovides   t he   b asic   f unctionality   t o   b oot   a n  
Operating   S ystem.   I t   s upports   s erial   c onsole   v ia   t he   o nboard   s erial   p ort   a t   t he   b oot   t ime.   T he   l oader   s upports  
booting   f rom   t he   o nboard   N AND   d evice   a nd   f rom   a   n etwork   s erver   ( see   t he   r espective   s ection   f or   d etails   o n  
this   p rotocol).  
Boot   L oader   C onfiguration  
Loader   p arameters   m ay   b e   c onfigured   t hrough   t he   o nboard   R S232C   D B9   a synchronous   s erial   i nterface.   T o  
connect   t o   i t,   u se   a   s tandard   n ull-­‐modem   c able.   B y   d efault,   t he   p ort   i s   s et   t o   1 15200bit/s,   8   d ata   b its,   1   s top  
bit,   n o   p arity.   N ote   t hat   t he   d evice   a lso   i mplements   t he   h ardware   ( RTS/CTS)   f low   c ontrol.
