HYDROSTATIC POWER TRAIN
DIAGNOSIS —K51
Test Conditions:
• Tractor operated in test area.
• Engine at operating temperature.
Test/Check Point
1. Shift linkage
2. Brake linkage and
assembly
3. Neutral return linkage
Test Conditions:
• Tractor on level surface.
• Engine OFF.
Test/Check Point
4. Hydro housing exterior
5. Transport (free wheeling)
valve and linkage
6. Internal hydro components

Normal
Shift linkage adjusted properly and working
smoothly.
Brake and brake linkage adjusted properly
and working smoothly.
Brake components not worn or damaged.
Neutral return linkage adjusted properly
and working smoothly.
Normal
No cracks, leaks, or loose hardware.
Transport linkage engaging and
disengaging properly.
NOTE: If internal hydro component parts are suspected (after
performing all external checks and adjustments) CALL SABRE
SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR AUTHORIZATION TO REPLACE
TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY.
• Tests run at engine slow idle and fast idle.
• Hydro run through full range of speeds in both
directions.
Repair or replace as needed.
Adjust as needed. See "BRAKE
SPRING ADJUSTMENT—K51"
on page 34.
Repair or replace as needed.
Repair or replace as needed.

Repair or replace as needed.
• Front wheels blocked.
• Rear wheels raised off surface with axle housings
on jack stands.
Tighten hardware.
Repair or replace transaxle
housing. Replace any damaged
components.
