Servicing the lamps on your M-10000

Before changing the lamps in your locomotive, be sure to check that the AUX2
Note!
command was not used to turn off the front headlight.
Y
our locomotive is illuminated by several
lamps. One is located in the Headlight
housing on the nose of the locomotive, a
second "arial beacon" bulb points upward
and a third bulb illuminates the cab. During
the course of normal operation, these may
require replacement.
Removing the eight screws as shown in
Figure 5 on page 17 will allow access to the
inside of the locomotive and the expired
lamps. Due to the complexity of the required
disassembly, we recommend that you take
your locomotive to your authorized Lionel
Service Center for any lamp replacement.

expired lamp, carefully remove the two screws
from the roof and lift it off the car. As
illustrated in Figure 6, gently pull the expired
lamp straight out of the socket, then replace
it with Lionel lamp no. 610-8082-019. Make
sure that the replacement lamp is positioned
flat against the light panel. Reassemble the
car by following these steps in reverse order.
