How do I update my software?
To download the latest version of your MixVibes software, you will need to be registered on the MixVibes Forum.
To register:
Go to our forum.
Click on 'Register' on the 'Board Index' sidebar.
Read the terms and click on 'I agree to the terms'.
Fill out your profile with your username, valid e-mail address, and password.
IMPORTANT: You will need your software license key to complete the registration (written on the back of your installation
CD sleeve).
You will receive an e-mail with an activation link to complete registration.
To download/install:
Go to our forum.
Go to the Download Center.
Select your version of MixVibes and find the latest update.
Click the 'Download' button near the bottom of the page.
Once the download is finished, extract the folder and run the 'install_vfxupdate.exe'.
The update will overwrite your current version.
How do I recover my lost serial number?
We recommend keeping your serial number (which is printed on the back of the installation CD sleeve) by registering on the
forum, and entering it in the provided space. We'll be able to recover it for you in case you lose it.
How do I know the controller's firmware version?
1 Make sure your controller adaptor DC-6V and USB cable are unplugged.
2 Press and hold the right deck Shift button.
3 Plug your adaptor DC-6V, keep holding the right deck Shift button.
4 Release the right deck Shift button.
5 The firmware version is given by the ligthed LEDs of the Smartloop length and FX section: Version X .Y
1 X (on the deck 1): 1 (1/32), 2 (1/16), 3 (1/4), 4 (1), 5 (4), 6 (16), 7 (32), 8 (active effect 1), 9 (active effect 2)
2 Y (on the deck 2): 1 (1/32), 2 (1/16), 3 (1/4), 4 (1), 5 (4), 6 (16), 7 (32), 8 (active effect 1), 9 (active effect 2)
How do I upgrade my controller's firmware?
1 Make sure your controller adaptor DC-6V and USB cable are unplugged.
2 Press and hold the left deck Shift button.
3 Plug your adaptor DC-6V, keep holding the the left deck Shift button.
4 Release the left deck Shift button.
5 Connect the VFX Control USB cable to PC.
6 A new drive named "midiUpgDisk" should be found in your system.
7 Drag and drop the firmware file ("PDJ-2E_V*.bin") into the "midiUpgDisk" drive.
8 The effect-LEDs will start to flash while upgrading.
9 After the firmware is updated, VFX Control will reboot automatically.
