  • Page 5 STRATOS STROBE OVERVIEW Product Overview Setup Operating Instructions The Stratos Strobe is a DMX-512 controllable, strobe made up of high efficiency and super bright LED’s. The Stratos Strobe will operate in stand-alone, Master/Slave, sound activated or via DMX-512 control.
  • Page 6 (set dip switch #8 to on and all others off). Sound Activation The Stratos Strobe has a built-in microphone which enables it to operate in Sound to Light mode. Set the sensitivity control to the desired level, and the RGB 252 will change colour to the beat of the music.

    • With Dip Switches 5, 6, 7 and 8 only set to ON you obtain maximum speed Blackout Mode With only dipswitch #10 + 1 set to ON the Stratos Strobe will blackout. DMX Control Mode Operating in a DMX control mode environment gives the user the greatest flexibility when it comes to customising or creating a show.
  • Page 8 STRATOS STROBE CONTROL OPTIONS Set the start address using the group of dip switches located usually on the back of the fixture. Each dipswitch has an associated value. Adding the value of each switch in the ON position will provide the start address. Determining which switches to toggle ON given a specific start address can be accomplished in the following manner.
  • Page 9 DATA Cable (DMX cable) requirements (for DMX operation): • The Stratos Strobe can be controlled via DMX-512 protocol. The DMX address is set on the back of the unit. Your unit and your DMX controller require a standard 3-pin XLR connector for data input/output (figure 1).
  • Page 10 STRATOS STROBE DMX SET UP Notice: • Be sure to follow figures 2 & 3 when making your own cables. Do not connect the cable’s shield conductor to the ground lug or allow the shield conductor to come in contact with the XLR’s outer casing.
