3.2. Connecting to an xDSL/Cable Modem

1. Follow through steps 1 through 4 in Section 2.5 to assign IP address and other network
parameters to iCanView220/220W.
2. Install iCanView220/220W and connect it to xDSL or Cable modem as in Figure 3-2.

When a fixed IP address is assigned to the xDSL or Cable modem, using IP-installer, invoke
the same method as "assigning an IP address on a LAN." To enable email notification of IP
address changes assign a "send to" e-mail address using IP-installer.
Management server provides a convenient way of connecting to your network
camera under WAN (Internet Connected) dynamic IP environments. Please refer
to the Application Note "Management Server" on the included CD.)
When connecting the iCanView220/220W to an xDSL or Cable modem, usually a
regular LAN cable is required. However, some modems require a crossover cable.
Please contact your service provider to make sre you are using the correct type of
cable.
