Connecting the server to the mains

In its basic configuration level the server has a hot-plug power supply unit. A
second hot-plug power supply unit can be added to ensure a redundant power
supply. If a defect occurs in one power supply unit, the other power supply unit
ensures continued operation of the server.
V
CAUTION!
The installed power supply units automatically set themselves to a
voltage in the range of 100 V - 240 V. Make sure that your local mains
voltage is within the correct range.

Connecting the power cord

Figure 14: Connecting the server to the mains
Ê Connect the power cable with the insulated connector to the power supply
unit of the server, and plug the power plug into a grounded outlet on the
mains socket strip on the rack (see Technical Manual of the rack).
I
A phase redundancy in the power supply of the server can be set up if
two hot-plug power supply units are installed.
In this case, the two power supply units are connected to two different
phases.
