Connecting the Dual Node Cluster Server to
the mains
The system has two bays for hot-swap power supply units. In the base
configuration, it is fitted with one power supply unit. A second hot-plug power
supply unit can be added to ensure a redundant power supply. If one power
supply unit is defective, the other then guarantees unimpaired operation. Each
hot-plug power supply unit can be replaced during operation (see the
"PRIMERGY CX420 S1 Upgrade and Maintenance Manual").
V
CAUTION!
The Dual Node Cluster Server is automatically set to a mains voltage in
the range 200 - 240 V. You may only operate the Dual Node Cluster
Server if its rated voltage range corresponds to the local mains voltage.
Ê Connect the power cord to the Dual Node Cluster Server PSU.
Ê Connect the mains connector to an outlet on the rack's socket strip (see also
Technical Manual for the rack).
I
A phase redundancy in the power supply of the Dual Node Cluster
Server can be set up if two hot-plug PSUs are installed.
In this case, each of the PSUs is either connected to two different phases
or to two separate circuits of the internal power supply network.
