■ Intercom operation

The optional intercom function allows you to talk to the deck
from the cabin. The optional COMMANDMICII™ or COM-
MANDMICIII™ microphone, is required.
Connect the COMMANDMIC™ as described on page 50.
• Up to two COMMANDMIC™s can be simultaneously connected.
• Transmitting is impossible while using the intercom.
• The received signal is muted while using the intercom.
q Push [O], then push [9•
IC
• The COMMANDMIC™ power is automatically turned ON, even
if the power is OFF.
When the connected COMMANDMIC™ is one, step w
does not appear. Go to step e.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

NOTE: The COMMANDMIC™, connected to the [COM-
MAND MIC-1] connector, is recognized as 'INTERCOM1,'
and the other side is 'INTERCOM2.'
e Hold down [9•
] for more than 1 second to sound the

intercom beep while holding.
• The transceiver and the COMMANDMIC™ second beeps.
r Hold down [PTT] and speak into the microphone at a nor-
mal voice level.
• " " or " " appears on the caller or listener function
display, respectively.
* " " or " " appears on the HM-157.
• " " appears on the IC-M604A or HM-162 if it is idle.
• To adjust the IC-M604A's speaker output level, rotate [VOL].
• To adjust the HM-157's speaker output level, push [VOL•
], then push [Y] or [Z] on the HM-157.
PA/RX
• To adjust the HM-162's speaker output level, rotate [SELECTOR].
