SDA 55xx 1. Introduction The TVTEXT PRO Evaluation Board is a versatile tool, providing you quick access to the capabilities of TVTEXT PRO’s powerful architecture. To enable applications to be developed quickly and easily the TVTEXT PRO Evaluation Board is fitted with a variety of peripherals for connections to the outside word.
SDA 55xx 3. Getting Started The following table gives an overview on all jumper and switches of the TVTEXT PRO Evaluation Board. The setting recommended in the last column is used for operation with ext. ROM, e.g. for running the demo software P090VXXX and a television connected via the SCART connector. Jumper Description if Jumper is set SETTING...
SDA 55xx 4. Hints for Operation 4.1. RGB Buffer Stage and TVTEXT PRO Design Step V0.1 The RGB buffer stage of the TVTEXT PRO Evaluation Board is designed for the specified RGB voltage offset of 0.3V and a gain adjustment of 1.2V. Due to a bug (see Errata Sheet V1.0, H8) in the DAC module of the first test chip of TVTEXT PRO (V0.1) the RGB buffer stage of the TVTEXT PRO- Evaluation Board is not working well.
SDA 55xx 4.4. 2.5V Power Supply and TVTEXT PRO Design Step V0.1 Due to a short between the 3.3V and 2.5V power domain on-chip of the TVTEXT PRO V0.1 (see Errata Sheet V1.0, H11) the 2.5V voltage on-board is increased. This can be avoided by disconnecting the 3.3V power from pin 40 (MQFP100 package) and connecting 2.5V to this pin.
SDA 55xx 5. Known Bugs of the TVTEXT PRO Evaluation Board 5.1. Labelling of SW02, SW03 and SW04 The labelling of the switches SW02, SW03 and SW04 is inverted. SW02 (selection of CVBS source for the Slicer): If the jumper is set to ‘CVBS-BNC’ the slicer is supplied with the CVBS signal from the SCART connector.
SDA 55xx 5.4. Floating Pin at FLASH Device Pin 31 of IC05 (W# pin of Flash ROM) must be pulled high (to 3.3V) permanently by a resistor (100 kOhm) or short connection to 3.3V. Otherwise the Flash device is not working stable. Most boards are already delivered with a 100-kOhm pull-up resistor.
