Turn on the power of the equipment to be used.

Insert the cassette.

Select the playback speed by pressing REC/PLAY
SPEED – or +.
The selected playback speed is displayed in the
display window.

Press PLAY B.
Playback starts.
To stop playback
Press STOP x.
To rewind the tape
Press STOP x and then REW m.
To fast-forward the tape
Press STOP x and then FF M.
Resetting the tape counter
The tape counter in the display window helps you to
locate a certain scene after playback. Set the
COUNTER/REAL TIME switch to COUNTER and
press COUNTER RESET to set the counter to
"0H00M00S" (counter zero) position before playing
back the tape. The VCR keeps counting the length of
the tape being played back. Note, however, that the
tape counter will not count the portions without video
signals.
Notes
• You cannot play back tapes recorded on other time-lapse
VCRs on this VCR and vice versa.
• If ALARM DATA REC in the ALARM SET menu and/or
TAPE USED COUNT in the GENERAL SET menu is set
to ON, the VCR will rewind the tape and playback will
start from the beginning of the tape. While the VCR is
rewinding the tape, "<ALARM DATA REC>" and/or
"<TAPE USED COUNT>" flashes on the monitor screen.
You can play back the sound with the picture if a tape
is recorded:

Play back the tape at the same speed at which it was

recorded so that you can monitor the sound normally.
For audio playback in 2-hour mode, in SP
mode or 6 (8)-hour mode, in EP mode
Play back the tape normally.
For audio playback in 12 (16)-, or 24 (32)-hour
mode, in SP mode or 18 (24)-, or 30 (40)-hour
mode, in EP mode
Press SEARCH/AUDIO ON in playback mode.
"A" (for example "A12" or "A24") is displayed in the
display window.
To turn off the sound, press SEARCH/AUDIO ON
again.
Noise may appear on the screen and the sound may be
distorted when you play back the picture in AUDIO ON
mode.

Audio Playback

In SP mode, in 2 (2)-, 12 (16)-, or 24 (32)-hour mode
using T-120 (T-160) tape.
In EP mode, in 6 (8)-, 18 (24)-, or 30 (40)-hour mode
using T-120 (T-160) tape.
