Use thus function to pass the source material direct to the amplifier,
bypassrng any audio processing.
Press the SOURCE DIRECT key.

you
press the
LISTEN MODE, SOUND,
or
SET UP
keys,
or switch to another Input source, SOURCE DIRECT playback will
be canceled.

If CINEMA EQ. IS switched ON, SOURCE DIRECT key will not be

If SOURCE DIRECT IS switched ON, CINEMA EQ. function will not

Q Start playback on the cassette deck connected to the
MONITOR lacks and start recording on the cassette deck or
MD recorder connected to the MDiTAPE jacks.
Press the SOURCE DIRECT key agam.
MD/TAPE + MONITOR recording

If SOURCE DIRECT playback was activated while In surround mode,
canceling SOURCE DIRECT playback will reactivate the prevrous
surround mode.
0 Use the INPUT SELECTOR knob to select "MD/TAPE."
e Start playback on the cassette deck connected to the MD/TAPE
jacks and start recording on the cassette deck or MD recorder
connected to the MONITOR lacks.
0 Press the SPEAKERS A or B key so that the speaker mdica-
tor goes off.

To copy tapes usrng a double cassette deck, refer to the
Instruction manual of the double cassette deck.
Make sure the SPEAKERS
Indicators are turned off.
*If you turn off all of the speakers when In surround mode, the
surround mode will be canceled as well, resulting In stereo playback.
8 Connect headphones to the PHONES lack.
MONITOR
INPUT SELECTOR
0 Use the INPUT SELECTOR knob to select the source (other
than "MD/TAPE") you want to record.
@ Set the cassette deck or MD recorder to record.
Q Start playback, then start recording.
MONITOR + MD/TAPE recording
0 Press the MONITOR key.
~OMTUR function (analog sources only)
You can connect a cassette deck or graphrc equaliz& to the
MONITOR
lacks of the recerver. If a graphrc equalizer IS connected, the
MONITOR
key should be left rn the on position. Alternately, if a cassette deck
equrpped with a 3-head system IS connected to the
MONITOR
jacks,
you will be able to monitor the just-recorded srgnal while makrng
recordings on the cassette deck. By switchrng the
MONITOR
key on
and off, you can compare the sound of the source srgnal and the just-
recorded srgnal. For more Information, refer to the Instruction manual of
the connected component.
0 Use the VOLUME CONTROL knob or VOLUME keys to adjust
the volume.
