The remote control IS set to control volume of a component
through
your
TV while In the TV, VCR, or Cable mode. However,
In an Audio mode (i.e.
CD), you have separate
control
of your audio component's
volume. If your
TV IS not remote controllable,
or if you want volume to be controlled
by a
different component,
you can change the Volume Lock setting to control
a
volume through
a non-associated
mode (e.g.,through
the cable In the TV
mode).
To change
Volume
Lock
to the another
mode:
0 Press
and hold the SET UP key until the LED blinks
twice,
then
release
the SET UP key.
Q Pressthenumerlckeytoenter"9-g-3",
thenpressany
modekey
once (except*V).
l
The LED will blink twice.
Q At this pomt, whenever
you press
the VOLUME
+I- keys,
or the
MUTE key, volume
will be controlled
by your mode choice.
0 To unlock,
press
the SET UP key until the LED blinks twice,
and
press
the numeric
key to enter
"g-9-3",
then press
the VOLUME
+ key.
l
The LED will blink 4 times upon being unlock.
To change
Volume
Lock
back
to the TV mode:
0 Press
and hold the SET UP key until the LED blinks
twice,
then
release
the SET UP key.
0 Press the numeric
key to enter
"9 - 9 - 3", then press
the TV
key.
l
The LED will blink twice.
Q At this point, whenever
you press
the VOLUME
+/- keys,
or
MUTE key, volume
will be controlled
by your TV.
Q To unlock,
press
the TV key, then the SET UP key until the
LED blinks
twice,
and press
the numeric
key to enter "g-9-3",
then press
the VOLUME
- key.

The LED will blink 4 times upon being unlock.
This operation
lets you operate
the reglstered
components.

via the system
control
connections.

Tuner with system
control
connection,
go to step 3.

Press the operation keys you desire.

To return to the receiver operation
mode, press the
RECEIVER
key.
Notes
l
Be sure to point the remote
control
at the remote
sensor
on the
receiver
when you want to operate
KENWOOD
components
con-
nected by system
control cords.
Otherwtse,
point the remote control
at the component
you want to operate.
*To initialize the remote
control,
press the SET UP key until the LED
blinks twice. Then press the numeric key to to enter "9-8-O"
The LED
