Speakers
This unit has two pairs of speaker terminals, SPEAKERS
A and SPEAKERS B.
Connecting one speaker system
Connect
speakers
rated at 4 ohms
or more
to the
SPEAKERS A terminals.
Connecting two speaker systems
To connect an additional pair of speakers, use the B ter-
minals.
In this case, each speaker must be rated at
8 ohms or more.
Connection with speaker cords
1. Connect the left speaker to the [L] SPEAKERS ter-
minals and the right speaker to the [R] SPEAKERS
terminals.
2. Be careful that wires do not contact adjacent ter-
minals.
3. Be sure to connect the (+) terminal of the speaker to
the (+) terminal of the unit.
Never short the (+) and (—) terminals.
Erroneous connection of speakers may result in poor
imaging or unnatural sound.

Twist wire tightly,
and solder.
The wire is
now locked.

Speaker lead connection
Turntable
The PHONO jacks of the unit can accept a turntable
with an MM type phono-cartridge (The KVR-AQOR can
be connected to either type of turntable; one using MM
cartridge or one using MC cartridge).
Your stereo turntable has a pair of audio cables that is
terminated with phono plugs. Plug the left channel plug
into the
and the right channel
plug into the [Rl
PHONO jacks.
if the turntable has a ground wire, connect it to the
unit's GND terminal to avoid hum.
CD/AUX
To these jacks, high-level signal sources such as, CD
player, tuner, extra tape decks, TV, VTR sound out-
puts, etc. can be connected.
Ground
For maximum
safety and minimum
interference con-
nect the GND terminal to a good earth ground if prac-
ticable. A good earth ground is a cold water pipe or a
metal stake driven into moist earth. However,
never
use a gas pipe for this purpose.
Tape decks
If only one tape deck is to be connected to the system it
is recommended that it be connected to the jacks mark-
ed TAPE 2. (If your tape deck is equippied with a 3
head
system,
the simultaneous
monitoring
can
be
possible.)
Tape deck input and output cables are normally ter-
minated with phono plugs.
Playback
Plug the left and right output cables of the tape deck in-
to the [L] and [R] TAPE 2 PLAY jacks.
Record
Plug the left and right input cables of the tape deck into
the [0] and [R] TAPE 2 REC jacks.
Second tape deck
Plug the input and output cables from the second tape
deck into the REC and PLAY jacks marked TAPE 1.
VCR (VIDEO/AUDIO) jacks (except KR-A70)
Two video recorders can be connected to the VCR A
and VCR B jacks.
Connect
the unit's VIDEO
PLAY
jack to the video
recorder's video output terminal, the VIDEO REC jack
to the video input terminal, the AUDIO PLAY IL] jack to
the left audio output terminal, AUDIO PLAY [RI jack to
the right audio output terminal, AUDIO REC [L] jack to
the left audio input terminal, and the AUDIO REC
[F}
jack to the right audio input terminal. (Video recorder
with monaural audio should be connected to one of the
VCR A jacks. After connecting it to the [[] or [R] AUDIO
jack of the VCR A jacks, set the MONO/STEREO switch
to ''MONO''.)
MONO/STEREO switch (except KR-A70)
This switch affects only the VCR A jacks. Set the switch
according to the stereo or monaural audio output mode
of the video recorder connected to the VCR A jacks.
VCR
AUDIO
jacks
(except
KVR-A9OR
and
KVR-A7OR)
Connect these jacks to the audio output terminals of a
video recorder. Connect the VCR AUDIO [E] jack to the
left audio output terminal and VCR AUDIO
[RI jack to
the right audio output terminal. (Never connect these
jacks to the video output of the video recorder.)
To these jacks, high-level signal sources such as, CD
player, tuner, extra tape decks, TV, VTR sound out-
puts, etc. can be connected.
MONITOR OUT jacks (except KR-A70)
Two video monitors can be connected to the MONITOR
OUT
A and
MONITOR
OUT 8B jacks.
(The
video
monitors or TVs should be equipped with video input
terminals.)
Connect the MONITOR OUT A or B jack to the video in-
put terminal of each video monitor.
