1.4 Notes on Operation

1.4.1 Powering Off

This printer has an internal non-volatile memory (EEPROM), and hard disk
drive.
If the printer is powered off during the process of writing to the non-volatile
memory or hard disk drive, the writing operation cannot be guaranteed, and
an error may occur the next time the printer is turned on.
The following cases are those in which the memory is being rewritten, and
therefore, the printer should not be turned off.
n
From the moment the printer is turned on until the On Line indicator
lights.
n
While the On Line indicator is flashing.
n
While the printer is printing (while the paper feed motor is operating).
To stop the printer, either put it off line or carry out Reset.

While the Data indicator is lit or flashing.

1.4.2 High-Temperature Components

The fuser unit inside the printer becomes hot, and caution must be taken not
to touch the fuser unit while opening the printer to clear paper jam.
