5. Gently pry one side of the bottom shell out and remove that side of the main PCB
assembly. Repeat for the other side.

6. Remove and retain the two screws securing the scan engine to the laser frame. If
you are replacing only the laser absorber, reassemble the 1800 following the
procedure on page 1-8 using a new laser absorber; otherwise, continue with Step 6.
7. Disconnect the laser flex cable from the scan engine.
8. Remove the three screws securing the laser frame to the main PCB assembly.
