5. Gently pry one side of the bottom shell out and remove that side of the main PCB
assembly. Repeat for the other side.

6. Remove and retain the three screws securing the laser frame to the main PCB
assembly.
7. Disconnect the laser flex cable from the main PCB, and install the scan engine onto
the new main PCB assembly.
8. Disconnect the connector flex cable from the main PCB.
9. To reassemble the 1800, reverse Steps 2 through 8 using a new main PCB
assembly, and then follow the procedure "Assembling the 1800" on page 1-8.
Replacing the Laser Absorber, Buzzer Cap, or Laser Frame
To replace the laser absorber, buzzer cap, or laser frame, you need the following tools:
Finger cots or non-powdered Latex gloves
Small Phillips screwdriver
You need the following parts:
Laser absorber, buzzer cap, or laser frame (Part No. 3-360039-32)
