Troubleshooting

If the C–330 does not function in the way you except, first check the following chart. If this does not resolve the problem, consult your dealer or a nearest
Roland Service Center, or an authorized Roland distributor, as listed on the "Information" page.
Power does not Turn On
Symptom
When you press the [POWER] switch, the
power doesn't come on
Problems with the Screen Display

Nothing appears on screen
No sound

No sound
No sound from the satellite speakers
Pedalboard does not sound
No sound
(when connected to external equipment)
Something is wrong with the sound
Symptom
You hear noise
Something is wrong with the sound when you
play certain areas of the keyboard
High notes are folded down by an octave, or
are not sounded.

Cause
Power cord is not connected correctly.
Cause
The C–330 uses a liquid-crystal screen, so text may not
be displayed when the ambient temperature is below
freezing.
Cause
No sound (stop) is selected.
The [Master Volume] knob is at the "Min" position
(volume is at minimum).
Headphones are connected.
If headphones are connected, sound will be heard only
from the headphones.
A plug has remained in the headphone jack.
The expression pedal is not depressed.
The [Select/Menu] knob (Satellite Volume) is set to "0."
The pedalboard cable is not connected correctly.
The power to the connected external equipment is not
switched on.
The "Aux In Volume" is set to "0"
Cause
If there is a cell phone nearby, noise might be heard
from the C-330 when a call is made or received, or
during a call.
You're playing outside the recommended range of
pitches for that voice.
You have exceeded the speaking range of the pipe.
You're playing an octave-shifted organ sound.
Response
Connect the power cord correctly.
Response
This is not a malfunction.

If you have simply turned on the power, the
keyboard will not produce sound since no stop has
been selected.
Turn the [Master Volume] knob toward "Max."
If you want sound to be produced from the
speakers, disconnect the headphones.
Remove the plug from the headphone jack.
Depress the expression pedal.
Adjust the [Select/Menu] knob (Satellite Volume).
Correctly connect the pedalboard cable.
Switch on power to the connected external
equipment, in the correct order.
Adjust the "Aux In Volume" setting.
Response
Keep the cell phone as far away from the C-330 as
possible, or turn it off.
This is not a malfunction.

If an organ sound is octave-shifted, the sound may
be affected by the timing at which you play the keys
or by phase relationships, but this is not a
malfunction.
