    Panel Descriptions Keyboards and divisions The C-330 has two manual keyboards and a pedalboard. From the bottom, these are referred to as “Pedal,” “Manual–I,” and “Manual–II,” respectively. The basic group of sounds for each keyboard is called a “division.” MANUAL II (MAN-II)

    Playing the C-330 Playing various sounds The C-330 allows you to play a variety of pipe organ sounds. Each of these sounds is called a “stop.” Selecting sounds (Stops) Each keyboard has a group of sound tablets. The tablets in these groups are called “division tablets.”...

    Playing the C-330 Playing the sounds of another keyboard (Couplers) You can use a specific keyboard to play the sounds of a different keyboard. For example, you could finger “Manual–I” (the lower keyboard) to simultaneously play the sound selected for “Manual–II” (the upper keyboard). These functions are known as manual couplers.

    Playing the C-330 Changing the range of the melody coupler You are free to change the range in which the melody coupler will operate. The specified note and those above it will use the melody coupler, and notes below it will not. The specified note itself is included in the melody coupler range.

    Playing the C-330 Using the bass coupler The bass coupler allows you to layer the sound of a pedal onto the lowest note you’re fingering on the manual–I keyboard. Press the bass coupler [BASS] piston. When the bass coupler is on, the piston’s indicator will light. Finger the Manual–I keyboard, and you’ll hear the sound of the pedal even though you’re not playing the pedalboard.

    It’s best to lower the satellite speaker volume before adjusting the overall volume. Adjusting the volume balance is easier if you start by specifying the volume of the bass sound heard from the C-330 itself, and then adjust the volume of the satellite speakers.

    Playing the C-330 Changing the type of reverberation By applying reverberation you can obtain the acoustic characteristics of a performance in a concert hall. Changing the room type By changing the type of reverberation you can experience the sensation of performing in a variety of locations.

    Playing the C-330 Adding soft vibrato (Tremulant) The tremulant effect adds vibrato (cyclic modulation) to the sound. Use this when you want to add an expressive feel to a solo or small ensemble performance. This is often used on compositions of the romantic era, gospel, and music for worship services.

    Storing a Combination of Sounds in Memory (Using the General Pistons) On the C-330, a combination of settings for the stops and couplers of the entire organ can be stored in memory as a “registration” at one of the general pistons.

    Simply by pressing the [NEXT] piston, you can successively recall the registrations that are stored in the general pistons. For example, if you will be performing a recital, you can use the C-330’s memories to store your registrations in the order in which you will be using them, and then smoothly switch to the next registration while you perform.

The list will show not only the song data saved in the C-330’s internal memory, but also the song data in USB memory. To select song data stored in USB memory With your USB memory connected to the C-330’s USB connector, proceed as follows to select and play back the song.

If you want to delete a song that’s saved on USB memory, connect your USB memory to the external memory connector. From the main screen, press the [STOP] piston.

    Saving or L oading Songs or Settings Saving or loading sound settings (registration) All sound settings (registration) saved in all memory banks (M01–M20) can be saved together to USB memory. On the C-330, memory banks M01–M20 can be saved and loaded as a single unit.

    Saving or L oading Songs or Settings Deleting unwanted sound settings (registration) from USB memory Here’s how to delete unwanted sound settings from USB memory. The entire contents of memory banks M01–M20 contained in the settings will be deleted. Prepare the sound settings (registration) that you want to delete. Connect the USB memory to the USB memory connector.

    Song data saved on USB memory can be copied into the C-330’s internal memory. Song data that’s been saved in the C-330’s internal memory will not be lost even if you turn off the power. You will find it convenient to copy frequently used song data from USB memory into the C-330’s internal memory.

    Copying a song from USB memory to the C-330’s internal memory Song data saved in USB memory can be copied to the C-330’s internal memory. To do this, turn the [Value/Exit Menu] knob in step 4 to select “USB.” With this setting, song data will be copied from USB memory to the C-330’s internal memory.

    By loading a voice setup, you can change the overall character of the entire organ (for example to make it a French Romantic type of organ). The C-330 allows you to switch voice setups. You can also load voice setup files from USB memory.

    Using the Convenient Performance Functions Changing the tuning (Temperament) Historical styles of music such as baroque can be played in the tunings that were used during that time. Most works today are composed with the assumption that they will be played in equal temperament (the most common temperament used today).

From the main screen, you can also access the “Pitch/Tuning” screen (Step 3) by holding down the [SET] piston and SHORTCUT fingering the keyboard.

    Tuning to match the pitch of another instrument (Tuning) When playing in an ensemble with another instrument, you can adjust the C-330’s reference pitch to the other instrument. The reference pitch is usually expressed as the pitch of the middle “A” note.

    Using the Convenient Performance Functions Transposing the key The transpose function lets you shift the pitch in semitone steps without changing the keys you play on the keyboard. For example, if a song is written in a difficult key that contains numerous sharps (#) or flats ( ), you could use this setting to play the song in an easier key.

    After waiting several seconds, you may be able to play back the song by pressing the [PLAY/PAUSE] button again. Memory Full. The internal memory capacity of the C-330 is full.
