To create an 802.1Q VLAN, complete the following steps:
1. Select Add/Modify in the Action field.
2. Enter a VLAN ID number in the VID field and a name for the new VLAN in the

4. Highlight APPLY and press Enter to make your changes effective.
To modify an existing 802.1Q VLAN, complete the following steps:
1. Select Add/Modify in the Action field.
2. Enter a VLAN ID number in the VID field and the name for the VLAN in the

To delete an 802.1Q VLAN, complete the following steps:
1. Select Delete in the Action field.

To set the 802.1Q VLAN membership status of a port, go to the Membership
(E/F/-) line in the preceding window. Each port 802.1Q VLAN membership can be
set individually by highlighting the port entry using the arrow keys, and then toggling
among E, F, and - using the Spacebar.

Next, determine which of the ports that are members of the new VLAN will be
tagged or untagged ports.

Ports are ports that will be transmitting traffic for the VLAN. These ports can
be either tagged or untagged.
Defines the port as a non-member and also forbids the port from joining a

Specifies the port as not being a member of the VLAN, but the port can
become a member of the VLAN dynamically.
