Toujours éteindre et débrancher l'aspi-
rateur avant de nettoyer la zone de la
brosse car la brosse pourrait se remettre
soudainement en marche. L'omission de
débrancher pourrait causer des lésions
corporelles.
PROTECTEUR DE SURCHARGE
Le PowerMate
Protecteur de
comprend une
surcharge
protection intégrale
(BELT RESET)
contre les
dommages de la
courroie et du
moteur en cas de
blocage de
l'agitateur. Si
l'agitateur ralentit
ou s'arrête, le
protecteur de surcharge (BELT RESET)
éteint le PowerMate. Le moteur du boîtier
continuera a tourner.
Correction du problème: Éteindre et
débrancher l'aspirateur, retirer toute
obstruction et ensuite appuyer sur le
bouton de BELT RESET (protecteur de
surcharge).
Si le problème continue, apporter l'aspi-
rateur à être réparé par l'agent de ser-
vice Sears ou autre agent qualifié.

Lorsque

normal, le
voyant
lumineux de
CHECK BAG
(vérifier le sac) est éteint. Le voyant
s'allume lorsque le sac est plein, le flux
d'air est bloqué ou s'il y a une obstruction.
Dans ce cas, d'abord vérifier le sac à
pouissière jetable. Ensuite vérifier le filtre
de sécurité du moteur ainsi dans
DÉGAGEMENT DES OBSTRUCTIONS
(page 19).

DÉPANNAGE (page 26-27).
REMARQUE: Le voyant peut aussi s'allu-
mer quand certains accessoires sont utili-
sés, à cause de la réduction du débit d'air
dans l'accessoire. L'utilisation de
aspiration réduite pourrait empêcher au
voyant de ne pas fonctionner.
INTERRUPTEUR DE PROTECTION
THERMIQUE
Cet aspirateur comprend un protecteur
thermique qui se déclenche
automatiquement lors de surchauffe afin de
protéger l'aspirateur. Si un blocage
interrompt le flux normal de l'air au moteur,
le protecteur thermique éteindra le moteur
automatiquement. Ceci permet au moteur
de se refroidir afin d'éviter les dommages
potentiels à l'aspirateur.
Correction du problème: Éteindre
l'aspirateur et débrancher le cordon
d'alimentation de la prise afin de
permettre à l'aspirateur de se refroidir et
au protecteur thermique de se réarmer.
Chercher et retirer toute obstruction le cas
échéant. Voir DÉGAGEMENT DES
OBSTRUCTIONS (page 19). Vérifier et
remplacer tout filtre bouché. Attendre
environs trente (30) minutes, ensuite
rebrancher l'aspirateur et rallumer afin de
voir si le protecteur thermique s'est
réarmé.

• The cord moves rapidly when
rewinding. Keep children away
and provide a clear path when
rewinding the cord to prevent
personal injury.
• DO NOT use outlets above counters.
Damage from cord to items in
surrounding area could occur.
• When any abnormality/failure occurs,
stop using the product immediately and
disconnect the power plug.

NOTE: To reduce the risk of electric shock,
this vacuum cleaner has a polarized plug;
one blade is wider than the other. This plug
will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If
the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician to install the
proper outlet. Do not change the plug in
any way.
2. Plug the polarized power cord into a
120 Volt outlet located near the floor.
To rewind: Turn off
and unplug the
vacuum cleaner.
Hold the plug while
rewinding to
prevent damage or
injury from the
moving cord. Push
cord rewind button.
3. Lower wand from upright position by
pressing on the handle release pedal.

4. Select a pile height setting by pressing
the HEIGHT ADJUST pedal on the rear of
the PowerMate. The pile height setting
shows on the indicator. See SUGGESTED
PILE HEIGHT SETTINGS (page 14).
Attention: Refer to your carpet
manufacturers cleaning recommendations.
Some more delicate carpets may require
that they be vacuumed with the PowerMate
agitator turned off to prevent carpet
damage.
