To switch the low-range frequency

Switch the low-cut switch inside the grip using
a pointed object such as a pen.

Cover the microphone with the supplied wind
screen.
Slide on with the screw cut-
out pointing up.
Fasten the

Press BATT.
BATT lamp
Flashes brightly for a
moment and goes out
Lights up faintly or not
at all
The supplied battery will last for approximately 3 000
hours.
b Note
• When BATT is pressed during recording, a light
clock noise will be audible. The battery check should
therefore be performed before starting to record.
• If the internal battery is exhausted, the microphone
may not operate properly even with an external
power supply. Early replacement of the battery is
therefore recommended.
• When the supplied microphone cable is used to
connect an external microphone, monaural sound is
recorded on both left and right channels.
z Tip
• Sound may be recorded at lower volume with the
supplied external microphone than with the internal
microphone, thanks to the wide dynamic range of the
external microphone. This is not a malfunction. To
increase the volume of audio recording, adjust the
microphone volume level (p. 46).
Battery condition
Battery voltage is normal.
Replace the battery.
