• Handle the adjuster and the shoulder pad carefully to
avoid injury by getting your fingers caught in them.
• Do not carry the camcorder by holding the should
pad or the adjuster.
• When you store the should brace or place it on the
desk, make sure that the shoulder pad and the
adjuster are replaced to the original position.
Attaching the external
microphone
Attach the external microphone when
recording the sound coming from a distant
front place. This microphone has sharp
directivity.
b Note
• The external microphone takes priority of the
internal microphone.
• The external microphone is monaural. Use the
internal microphone to record stereo sound.
To attach the external microphone to the
camcorder

Install the battery in the microphone.
Loosen the grip, and insert a battery by
matching the + and - on the battery to the +
and - in the battery compartment.

Loosen the microphone holder screw,
and open the cover.

Place the microphone in the microphone
holder, close the cover, and tighten the
screw.
Align the line of the battery
compartment with the front side
of the microphone holder.

Connect the microphone cable to the
output jack and the MIC/LINE jack of
the camcorder.
Hook the microphone cable on the cable
holder.
