The machine is not functioning as designed

Symptom
Nothing appears in the
Display.
The [Start] key indicator
does not light up green.
The machine does not
operate when it is turned on.
* If the problem is not corrected even after the operations described are performed, turn off
the machine, unplug its power cord, and then contact the service representative.

Possible Cause
Is only the [Start] key lit
green?
Has the machine been
turned on?
Is the contrast of the Display
too light?
The machine has just been
turned on and is warming up.
The power cord is left
unplugged.
The room's circuit breaker is
open.
When a Message Appears
Action
The Energy Save mode is
enabled. Press any key on
the Control Panel to cancel
Energy Save mode.
Check that the power cord is
firmly connected and that the
| (on) side of the Power
Switch has been pressed.
From the "MACHINE
SETTING" menu of the Utility
mode, adjust the Display to
the correct contrast. Refer to
"Specifying the Setting for
"LCD CONTRAST"" on
page 5-7.
It takes the machine less
than 25 seconds to be ready
to make copies after it has
been turned on.
Please wait.
Plug the power cord into the
power outlet.
Close the room's circuit
breaker.
