Document Paper Types

Note
Be sure to use the document paper type appropriate for the feed
method being used.
If the correct paper type is not used, a paper misfeed or damage to the
document may occur.

Precautions for Multi-Sheet Feeding and Single-Sheet Feeding

The following types of documents should not be used for multi-sheet
feeding or single-sheet feeding, otherwise paper misfeeds or damage to
the document may occur. Instead, these types of documents should be
fed manually.

Thin documents such as typewriter paper or paraffin paper

Thick documents

Standard size documents larger than A3 or smaller than A5
G
Documents that are transparent or translucent, such as overhead
transparencies or diazo photosensitive paper

Wrinkled, folded, rolled, or torn documents

Documents bound with clips or staples
G
Coated documents such as carbon-backed paper
