AT-8400 Series Switch Overview

The AT-8400 Series switch is a modular unit that simplifies the task of
building and maintaining a Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet network.
See Figure 1. With the AT-8400 Series switch, you can build an Ethernet
network customized to the unique needs of your network environment.

You can connect your workgroup hubs and other switches to the chassis
so that the AT-8400 Series switch functions as the focal point of your
network. You can also connect workstations, servers, printers, and
routers directly to the chassis so that each device has sole use of a
dedicated link to the network.
Below are the cards that are available for the AT-8400 Series switch.
❑ AT-8411 TX line card — _Fast Ethernet with eight 10/100Base-TX
twisted-pair ports
❑ AT-8412/SC line card — Fast Ethernet with four fiber optic ports
❑ AT-8412/MT line card — Fast Ethernet with four fiber optic ports
❑ AT-8413 GB/T line card — Gigabit Ethernet with one twisted-pair
port and one expansion slot for an optional GBIC module
❑ AT-8414/ST line card — Fast Ethernet with four fiber optic ports
❑ AT-8414/SC line card — Fast Ethernet with four fiber optic ports
Note
For a current list of line cards for the AT-8400 Series switch, refer to
the Allied Telesyn web site or contact your ATI sales representative.
The chassis can contain any combination of line cards, and in any order.
