Hand Calibration
The Calibrate Analog Clock button allows the user to fine tune or re-calibrate the hands
of the clock.
[Note: The clock hands have been pre-set and aligned at the factory. This hand location
and alignment information is retained in non-volatile flash.]
[Note: for the purpose of maintaining its internal clock, the network clock always
assumes the time entered is UTC and saves this information as the internal UTC
time. Any configured time zone/daylight time settings will then be applied to this
internal time for the clock time display purposes.]
[Important Note: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SET THE TIME of the clock using the
following calibration procedure. This procedure is a calibration procedure only, used
to fine-tune the hands. This clock will self adjust to the UTC time reference provided by
the NTP time server, plus any Time Zone and DST offset settings that have been
configured. To configure the time displayed on the face of the clock , refer to the
previous sections for configuring the IP address, NTP time server(s), Time Zone, and
DST settings.]
Under normal operating circumstances it is not necessary to adjust or align the
hands. However, if for any reason, the hands are not tracking the NTP source, an
adjustment function has been built into the ND-CLK and its support software.
[Note: The visual determination of the accuracy of the hand display should be done by
comparing the clock hands only after the ND-CLK indicates that it is synchronized to
NTP, and then only to a digital display, from an accurate locked NTP server or
synchronized digital display clock placed next to the ND-CLK.]
To calibrate the hands:
[Note: you must be viewing the actual face of the clock to perform this function. Do not
use the status indicator under WinDiscovery to "view" the clock face.]
Press the "Set Analog Clock Hands" button to enter the adjustment mode, the hands of
the analog clock will stop.
Select the "Check to set clock" box.
Enter the correct hour, minute, and second currently exactly as displayed on the face of
the clock.
If the second hand is not currently aligned on a second mark, you can nudge the second
hand forward incrementally using the "Forward" button.
