C. Facing Finishing Options
NOTE: Optional firescreen sits out 1-1/2 inches from
the face of the fireplace. When using thin finishing ma-
terial, you may want to use thicker non-combustible
backer board to bring the finishing material flush with
the firescreen. This is not required.
There are two different ways the unit can be set and fin-
ished; either flush with the finish wall (Figure 11.4) or
flush with stud wall (Figure 11.5).

Note: For this application use the nailing tabs which
are set back 1/2 inch.
• Use the two metal panels shipped with fireplaces.
• Unscrew the four screws holding two panels together.
• Slide the two tapered tabs on bottom of each panel into
slots of top surround.
• Secure panels with sheetmetal screws included in manual
bag.

The metal panels will cover the width of appliance and height
of appliance to header board (11-1/2 inch). See Figure 11.4.
The metal panels may be covered with combustibles up to
6 inches from the opening top and 4 inches from the opening
sides. See Figure 1.1 and 11.3.

Note: For this application use the forward set of
nailing tabs.
• For this application place appliance flush with stud. See
Figure 11.5.
• Cover entire face of appliance with non-combustible
material. See Figure 11.5.
• Metal panels are not required.
