Construction Principles & Preparation
Installation Considerations
The BGX subwoofer system has been designed primarily
with in-wall mounting in mind. However, since the woofers
are self contained (they do not rely on the wall cavity or a
separate back box) there are many other types of instal-
lation opportunities including in-ceiling, in-floor, cabinet
mounting or even free-standing or on-wall (with an appro-
priate covering).
Make sure in these cases that the front radiating slot has
minimum clearance of 2" (50 mm) from any large obstruc-
tions like walls or panels.

Construction Preparation
Generally BGX subwoofer modules do not require any
special preparation of wall or ceiling cavities for their
installation.
We recommend adhering to usual safety and industry
standards, rules of good practice and techniques.
However if you are considering installation of subwoofer
module below another BG speaker within one stud cavity,
you need to separate the upper speaker cavity from
the subwoofer cavity with an air tight seal. You do not
need to do this if you use one of BG's back boxes for the
upper speaker.
